Annie Studholme is a specialist freelance equine photographer and journalist. She lives on a large sheep and cropping farm at Coldstream, near Ashburton, with husband Alastair, and two children, Olivia and William.

Annie has spent her life around horses. Her parents are actively involved in the thoroughbred racing industry, breeding and training racehorses. Annie started riding at an early age and went onto compete in all disciplines.

Since completing a Bachelor of Arts followed by a Diploma in Journalism, Annie has built a strong reputation as a leading equine photographer and journalist across all horse-related fields. Her images and articles have appeared in magazines such as New Zealand Thoroughbred, NZ Thoroughbred Racing Monthly, NZ Racehorse Owner Magazine, and The Bulletin (official magazine of Equestrian Sports New Zealand), as well as a number of other publications, and she's been a regular contributor to NZ Horse & Pony Magazine for the past 14 years. She is also a member of the International Alliance of Equine Journalists (IAEJ). Her equestrian work takes Annie to many of the country's top equestrian events during the year and she is also available at private invitation for events, promotional photographs, stallion shoots, mares and foals, profiles and website photographs. In addition, Annie also combines her love of horses with a passion for gorgeous interiors, creating a monthly themed DPS Home Interiors page for NZ Horse & Pony Magazine.

Aside from her equine endeavours, Annie's work also regularly features in Latitude, a Canterbury-based lifestyle magazine, where her regular columns include Frontline, Regional Food and Nature, and RuralCo's Real Farmer magazine.
